We had our photo shoot today! It was exhausting. The models were fabulous. They listened well, had fun in the clothes, but the stress of getting just the right shot, takes a toll on me. We still have some clothing to take pictures of, but I definitely got enough to get started on the marketing. The photo above is an example of how hard we work to keep the girls attention (notice Gami playing peek-a-boo).
Here are the girls primping in the mirror one last time before we left for the location. Can you believe it starts so early?
We are blessed to live in the south. The weather is a beautiful 72 degrees, overcast, and a light breeze. I can't imagine trying to take photos of clothing where there was snow on the ground. The only con was the foliage is all brown, but I can live with that.
Thanks to our models, Miss Beauty Queen, Miss Sassy Pants, and Miss Priss. Thanks to Gami who makes the most beautiful clothes. Without her we wouldn't have a company. Thanks to the only boy in this group for taking the blog pics, fixing bows, and just doing any order that was barked his way.
OUR MODELS

I am new to blogging. For years, I never understood how people could post their "diary" online for all to read. I swore I would never do it. I never really kept a "diary" as a child because I was afraid that someone would find the darn thing and know everything I was thinking...which for me, was a pretty scary consequence.
So, why the change? I left my job, of 10 years, as a graphic designer/Art Director and moved to another state. My mom retired and followed 3 months later. We had a part time job with Silly Nilly Designs, our clothing company, that we worked on in the evenings and weekends. This is now our full time job. I do the design, marketing, and business side and my mom sews and designs. Through my research I am finding that most small businesses that are online use a blog in place of or with their Web site.
I still have tons of research to do on the pros and cons of blogging, but in the meantime, I will attempt to post my thoughts on the fears, joys, and adventures of starting and running a small business. Wish me luck!
